Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
Children must be understood from a developmental perspective and play therapy facilitates this. Unlike adults whose natural communication is verbalization, the natural medium for children is play activity.
Play therapy is generally employed with children aged 3-12 years. It is especially aimed at helping children with emotional, social & behavioural problems.
As well as relieving symptoms play therapy can help build self-esteem, self-awareness, improve ways of expressing emotion, help improve communication and to help improve relationships and coping skills.
AAdolescence can be a challenging time for parent and teen alike. Adolescent Psychotherapy can provide a safe and secure environmemnt in which adolescents are given the opportunity to work through their difficulties using creative means.
Eileen works collaboratively with children/teenagers and their parents offering support and guidance through the challenges of childhood and adolescence.
