PPlayTherapy is a well established form of counselling or psychotherapy for children in which play is used to communicate their feelings.Children often become ‘stuck’ in their development due to life events. Play therapy can help them get back on their devlopmental track.

Play Therapy Bellevue Clinic Mallow Cork

Children must be understood from a developmental perspective and play therapy facilitates this. Unlike adults whose natural communication is verbalization, the natural medium for children is play activity.

Play therapy is generally employed with children aged 3-12 years. It is especially aimed at helping children with emotional, social & behavioural problems.

As well as relieving symptoms play therapy can help build self-esteem, self-awareness, improve ways of expressing emotion, help improve communication and to help improve relationships and coping skills.

AAdolescence can be a challenging time for parent and teen alike. Adolescent Psychotherapy can provide a safe and secure environmemnt in which adolescents are given the opportunity to work through their difficulties using creative means.

Eileen works collaboratively with children/teenagers and their parents offering support and guidance through the challenges of childhood and adolescence.
